Boomerang Making
This activity gives participants the opportunity to individually shape and design their own boomerang which they will get to take home at the end of their camp as a souvenir. In order to do this, participants are given a rough cut boomerang and are taught how to safely use a number of tools including clamps, files and sandpaper. Participants then enjoy completing their boomerang by carefully painting the top with their own choice of design using traditional bush materials such as sticks, leaves and gum nuts. Once the boomerangs are dry, they are varnished to preserve them as a special memento of the Forest Edge camp experience for years to come.
Boomerang making runs for a single session of 1 ½ hours only.
